Learning across Borders

After the Dare to Share Fair, the conference took a step ahead

The conference focused on "learning across cultural and organizational borders". Sharing knowledge requires room to do so. A "learning organization" provides the necessary frame conditions allowing collaborators and teams to learn. In "learning partnerships" organizations agree with their partner organizations on joint interests and on what learning would mean. Sharing knowledge and learning goes across individuals, teams, organizations.

The conference promoted the exchange with the "non-developmental" world

Participants arriving in time for the conference could sip some impression of the Dare to Share Fair in the form of cartoons, photographs and "linsights" (learning insights and statements) of participants presented on three screens.
After the formal opening address by Dora Rapold, the conference started formally with an welcome speech by Walter Fust, Director of SDC. His speech was followed by the presentation of Highlights of the Dare to Share Fair in form of a "Dare to Share Fair Story", a short film and a talk on lessons learned.

After three short talks the participants had the possibility to exchange their experiences "across societal borders" and formulate their "L-insights" (learning insights).

In the afternoon a Panel composed of representatives of development cooperation, private businesses, the science community an politicians discussed their experiences in knowledge management.

The Playback Theatre Zurich closed the conference with a sparkling performance around key topics suggested by conference participants.
